Hello, South Park
YS has organised lots of activity in South Park over the summer but now that nights are darker we only have youth workers visiting the park on Saturday afternoons. The nearest youth club is on Skerne Park in the Community Centre on Tuesday & Thursday evenings.

Mowden:
It has always been difficult to have provision on Mowden as there isn't a venue (we have tried the school & the rugby club but both cost too much to hire on an ongoing basis). We currently have 2 workers doing street work on a Friday night.

A very popular venue, which I know attracts young people from South Park & Mowden areas, is The Chill Out at the Dolphin Centre on a Friday night, 7.30-9.30pm. It costs £1 entry - but free with a Teen Card until 31st March 2010. A Teen Card also gives half price swimming & pulse suite at the Dolphin Centre - plus some discounted travel

What else do you think could be done to help the problem of young people on the streets?

Hi Jake Willow Road is held once a week as i am sure you are aware. I have attended Willow road over the last couple of weeks and i do agree there is limited equipment. i have asked the young people who attend what they would like to see and as yet have had a limited reponse. Like wise i appreciate your comment but you have not stated what you would like to see in the club either. Also I believe there is also something on at Pierremont Road Church which is not run by the youth service. In the next couple of weeks myself and a colleague will be out and about in our mobile provision the WWW. Bus feel free to look us out and come and have a chat. many thanks

Jake thank you for your comments, however Willow Road is not a suitable venue to play football in. However if this is something you are interested in can we not get together, may be at Willow Road or I'll meet you in the WWW. bus, this starts 27th May give me a time and a place to meet on that day and see how we go.

No problem Jake, but don't forget to come and talk to us if you have any other ideas! Can I be cheeky and ask what else you've found to do in the Denes?
